Reclaimed
timber comes in a variety of conditions and we spend a lot of time pulling nails, bolts,
brackets etc. Pieces are individually selected for each order.
Before we re-saw anything it is
first metal detected. We look to see that the pieces are suitable for sawing and take care
that the final product comes off the mill straight and square. We are proud of our work.
WE
PROVIDE TIMBERS IN THE FOLLOWING FORMS:
AS IS
- just as it came out of the structure with its natural patina which usually varies in
shades of browns or grays.
GROUND OR
SANDED - We can brighten the finish on an "as is" piece in varying degrees
leaving as much or little of the old look as you wish - sometimes we sand down to fresh
wood. We can also sculpt the timbers making an undulating surface and easing edges for a
soft look.
SANDBLASTED
- Sandblasting raises wood grain for a rich, earthy look.
RE-SAWN
- Our re-sawn timbers have a smooth band sawn finish. We cut off the outside
"jacket" of the old beams and expose fresh faces.
